Vicente Ordóñez Román
Vicente has a PhD in Computer Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and has held visiting research positions at the Allen Institute for Artificial Intelligence and Adobe Research. He has led the vision, language and learning lab at the University of Virginia since the Fall 2016.
Tianlu holds a bachelor degree from Zhejiang University and has held internships at Facebook AI, Google, eBay, and Salesforce. She has a Best Paper Award at EMNLP 2017 and an Outstanding Graduate Research Award at UVA. Her work is in vision, language and fairness.
Paola holds an engineering degree from the Tecnológico de Costa Rica and ten years of experience as a Software Engineer. Her work has focused on interactive learning, semi-supervised learning and large scale visual recognition with fewer labels.
Fuwen holds math degrees from Sun Yat-sen University and Zhejiang University and has completed internships at Adobe Research, Amazon, Honda, and the Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. His work is in compositional models for synthesis, retrieval and search.
Ziyan holds a bachelor degree in computer science from Bryn Mawr College. She has focused on interpreable models for visual recognition and visual feedback mechanisms for multi-lingual problems in vision and language.

Aman holds a bachelor degree from the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee, and an MS in Data Science from the University of Virginia. He has experience developing deep learning frameworks to predict and classify gastrointestinal diseases.
Jaspreet is a Rodman Scholar and BS/MS student at the University of Virginia with a strong background in software development, agile methodologies, Python, Tensorflow, and Pytorch. She has had research experience in the autonomous vehicle domain specifically regarding safety and autonomous systems.
Katherine is a student researcher at the University of Virginia studying the effects of gender classification models on communities of gender minorities.
Nikash is completing his undergraduate degree in Computer Science and Cognitive Science at UVA and will join Scale.AI as a Software Engineer. He is currently interested in designing effective prompt engineering strategies for zero-shot visual recognition.
Lindsey is a senior undergraduate student at the University of Virginia. She has been a speaker at the local TEDxUVA conference and she has been studying and adddresing fairness in visual recognition and content recommendation models.
Leticia holds an engineering degree from the Universidad Nacional de Ingeniería in Perú and is currently an MS student at the Universidad Católica de San Pablo. She has been working on semantic image segmentation, medical image segmentation, and vision and language.
